Sample Field Trip Pricing

Field trip pricing includes accommodation, meals, instructional programming, laboratory and classroom facilities, and educational materials.

*Final pricing is based on group size, accommodation requirements, season, and selected educational activities. Transportation to and from Bamfield is not included.

Cancellation Policies

Cancellation and Booking Policy

To ensure effective program planning and staffing, the following cancellation policy applies to all school and educational field trip bookings.

Deposits

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.
Bookings are not considered secured until the deposit has been received.
Final participant numbers must be confirmed 30 days prior to arrival.

Less than 30 days prior to arrival	100% of total booking cost

Changes to Participant Numbers

When you accept your field trip dates, you will be asked to confirm your group number at that time.
If the final group size decreases by more than 10% (rounded up) from the originally reserved number, BMSC may invoice for a minimum of the original number minus 10%.
- For example, if a group is booked for 24 people and only 18 people attend the field trip, the group will be invoiced for a minimum of 22 people.

Additional participants may be accommodated where if space and staffing permits.

Weather and Transportation Delays

Bamfield is a remote coastal destination. Delays due to weather, ferry schedules, road conditions, or transportation provider issues may occur. While we will make every effort to accommodate schedule changes, refunds cannot be guaranteed for delays or interruptions beyond the control of Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.

Cancellation by Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre

In the unlikely event that BMSC must cancel a program due to unforeseen circumstances, including facility closures, safety concerns, or force majeure events, all payments received will be refunded. BMSC is not responsible for costs incurred by participants related to transportation, insurance, or other third-party arrangements.

Travel Insurance

Schools and groups are strongly encouraged to obtain appropriate travel and cancellation insurance to protect against unexpected disruptions.

Please note: We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. Special consideration may be provided in cases of documented medical emergencies, natural disasters, or other exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre
