We are excited to announce the
2025 Summer Programs!
Summer programs at the BMSC offer immersive field experiences at the senior undergraduate level. We inspire investigation, promote critical thinking and offer students the opportunity to conduct their own independent research.

Our summer programs are full-time immersive experiences.
Students may only register for one course or BRI placement within each block.

Bamfield Research Internships

Bamfield Research Internships are fully immersive research experiences in the marine sciences designed for senior undergraduate students and recent graduates. Applicants are matched with experienced scientist-mentors to collaborate on active marine science research projects.
Participants will learn through hands-on experience both the process and substance of scientific research, and with the guidance of their mentor produce a scientific deliverable relevant to their project. Participants may also receive university course credit for their work, subject to mentor approval. Each BRI placement is three to six weeks in length. Placements will be available in Blocks I-III from May 7th to July 25th, and again in Block IV from August 5th to 23rd.
