Kiixin is the traditional capital village of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations, a Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation that is signatory to the Maa-nulth Final Agreement, a modern treaty granting its five member-nations self-government, ownership, control, and law-making authority over their lands and resources.
