Clay Steell
Clay is excited to be joining BMSC as part of the research services and diving teams! He comes from a recent background in research aquarium operations and lab management, having worked for Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Vancouver and the University of Alberta, respectively. Prior to this, he completed his M.Sc at Carleton University, where he researched the ecophysiology of invasive lionfish and an important lobster fishery in the Caribbean, and his B.Sc at Mount Allison University, where he studied biology and researched the reproductive ecology of intertidal seaweed. When he’s not doing or supporting science, Clay likes to spend his time on/in the ocean, taking photos, cooking with friends and family, and learning about the biodiversity and history of the land and water around him.
